Mint Master Permanence and Marketplace Direction: What Is Live vs Planned

We have seen repeated questions about a Mint Master-style permanence model and what that would mean for marketplace behavior in ApeScape. This update is our pre-beta clarity pass: what is publicly verifiable now, and what is still directional.

What is live now (verified):
– The public collections surface is live on ApeScape (including Mintotaurs, ApeScape Dungeons, Pugglez, and other Genesis Era pages).
– The Whitepaper is explicitly marked as draft/pre-beta and says full MMO/ORPG systems are still in active development.
– The Whitepaper also states that specific perks, staking, or land systems are not live unless separately announced with working code.
– The Dev Hub is live and points to the active pre-beta repos and workflow visibility.

What remains planned/directional:
– A formal “items stay forever on death” Mint Master permanence rule as a publicly shipped gameplay system.
– Any expanded marketplace guarantees beyond what is currently visible on live collection and site surfaces.
– Any utility claims not already announced with working code.

Current design direction (not a live feature announcement):
The direction we are evaluating is straightforward: if permanence mechanics are introduced, they should improve player trust in long-run ownership and reduce confusion about what can be lost versus retained. Marketplace direction should follow the same rule: clear ownership states, clear boundaries, and fewer assumptions.

That is why we are being strict about wording in this update stream. Pre-beta trust is built by separating shipped systems from design intent. As live code and docs move, we will continue to publish updates with that same boundary.

Quick summary:
Live now: collections pages, whitepaper pre-beta guardrails, and dev-hub repo visibility.
Planned: Mint Master permanence mechanics and broader marketplace behavior guarantees until they are shipped and documented.
